Today I’m offering a real hot chocolate. One that is free of chemicals and tastes far better than the pre packaged variety.
Alton Brown of Good Eats fame showcased a wonderfully warm hot chocolate many years ago.
You can top it with whipped cream, marshmallows, or anything else you wish. Try it once, then experiment and make it your own cold winter day go to hot chocolate.
- Serves: 4
- Cooking time: 10 minutes
2 tbsp unsweetened dutch coco powder
12 oz heavy cream
8 oz whole milk
8 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped fine
2 tsp vanilla extract
- In a medium sized saucepan, combine coco powder, whole milk, heavy cream
- Simmer over medium heat stirring often
- Pour over chocolate and stir until melted
